Forecast Discussion

A deep positively tilted trough aloft is bringing a low-pressure system through the Great Lakes region. This system is going to bring a cold front/occluded front to the region that will bring some precipitation to the region. Some precipitation may change over to mixed precipitation in the overnight hours as temperatures are likely to be near or below freezing tonight.

After the passage of this system, upper-level ridging will support a surface high-pressure system that will push clouds and rain out of the region. This will also come with a warming trend with temperatures in the low 50s heading into the weekend.
