After a more prolonged rain event this morning, clouds will scatter more as the day progresses. Today will be hot, at a high of 96 degrees, and we are currently under a Heat Advisory for heat index values up to 102 degrees. Please minimize exposure outside, and stay hydrated. Tonight will see partly cloudy skies continue overnight, though another round of scattered thunderstorms is possible into the morning hours once more. While severe threats are minimized, another rainy morning such as today can’t be ruled out tomorrow.

Friday will be partly cloudy and hot once more, at a high of 94. The upper-level ridging pattern is still prevalent, and despite lower pressure in the area, conditions tomorrow are expected to be calm. Partly cloudy skies will persist overnight with a few breaks of clearing here and there. Our ridge will weaken as the weekend progresses, even dipping into a weak trough Saturday, hence a chance of spotty showers. Flow will become much more zonal and temperatures are expected to become more seasonable as next week begins.
