Forecast Discussion

Currently, strong surface high pressure is keeping things warm and dry in our region. This stretch of dry weather has prompted daily Special Weather Statements for enhanced fire danger due to low afternoon relative humidities. Open burning today is banned from 6AM to 6PM today as relative humidity is expected to bottom out near 20% and possibly into the teens this afternoon.

Heading into Friday and the weekend, a cold front is approaching that will bring increasing clouds tonight into tomorrow and a chance for rain showers, which will increase over the weekend. Rain showers will likely stop after the frontal passage and then surface high pressure is expected to build back in and dry things out again this weekend into early next week.
