Forecast Discussion

The latest system is expected to bring warmer temperatures through the rest of this week as well as a good bit of rain. Forcing from an upper-level trough moving through is expected to bring rain showers with temperatures above freezing with new rainfall amounts of up to 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch by tomorrow night. A Hazardous Weather Outlook from the National Weather Service states that some localized flooding could occur with melting snowfall and new rainfall. The WPC also has the forecast region outlined in a Marginal Risk for excessive rainfall Wednesday through early Friday.

Heading into the last half of the week, a warm front is anticipated to lift through the region bringing the temperature up into the high 50s. High pressure is expected to build in on Friday providing some relief from the rain, but another system is expected to bring rain on Saturday as another low comes up from the Gulf of Mexico.
