The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Athens County from April 3rd at 2am until Sunday, April 6th at 8am. Excessive rainfall could cause flooding in rivers, creaks, streams, and other low-lying areas. Rainfall could total up to 5 inches over the next several days.
A very active weather period is expected late this evening into early tomorrow morning. The Severe Prediction Center has placed Athens until a slight risk for severe weather.
