Forecast Discussion

The National Weather Service in Charleston, WV has issued a Special Weather Statement until February 20, 2:30pm EST.

The National Weather Service in Charleston, WV has issued a Flood Watch until February 21, 7:00am EST.

Following a low pressure system moving through the area overnight, lighter rain will continue into this evening as temperatures rise throughout the day, leaving us with a much warmer but wetter day than yesterday. We’ve reached nearly an inch of rain already, and another inch is possible by the end of the day. The heaviest of the showers have passed, but a flood watch remains in effect until tomorrow morning at 7:00am as water trickles down the valley throughout the day. By Thursday morning, all of the rain should have moved through leaving us with a warm and drier day tomorrow. A high pressure system later this week will bring some brief periods of sunshine through Friday evening, but this weekend will bring more showers on Saturday afternoon. Temperatures will remain in the upper 40s and 50s through the weekend.
