Forecast Discussion

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 10 AM this morning until 7 AM Monday morning.

Snow is expected to wind down by Monday, with quieter conditions returning after the storm moves out. Even so, temperatures are forecast to remain below freezing for a while, so any snow on the ground is likely to stick around rather than melt quickly. Scalia Lab will continue to watch this system overnight and into Monday and will share updates if conditions change.

As the storm approaches later tonight, travel could become difficult, especially if snow begins to accumulate faster than expected. The main concern for freezing precipitation is still to the south, but there remains a chance that our area could see some light wintry accumulation as well. With that in mind, it’s a good idea to have important electronics charged this evening in case of any power interruptions, and to avoid unnecessary travel once conditions start to worsen.
