After the severe weather event tonight, clouds will begin to clear out of the region and pave way for a cool night. With lots of moisture hanging around due to the storm system that just passed us through, temperatures cooling quickly will likely lead to lots of spotty areas of fog. From the early morning hours until sunrise, expect there to be areas of dense fog to disrupt any plans you may have. Tomorrow should be comparatively calm, though, as we’re only tracking the potential for some light showers. Then we’ll get a bit of clearing once again as we prepare for a second cold front that could be associated with severe weather.

Monday and Monday night looks like we could be right in the crosshairs of another severe event, with a slight risk already issued for us by the SPC. Once again, threats will include severe wind gusts in excess of 60 mph, hail, and the potential for an isolated tornado. This is a VERY similar setup to earlier today, and with some uncertainty in the forecast still, make sure you review your storm safety plans and know what to do if Athens is going to get another round of severe storms.
