If you’re hoping for a break from the hot summer-like weather, I have fantastic news! Temperatures are going to be milder and pleasant through the course of the weekend, and we’ll also get treated with some much-needed rain! A shortwave trough will be the culprit this time around, which is going to pass across the region and bring the colder air with it. Temperatures over the weekend are expected to be in the mid to high seventies, and we’ll have a persistent chance of rain as we settle into a more fall-like weather pattern! We’re also expecting the chance at some thunderstorms Sunday evening into the nighttime hours, these thunderstorms are not expected to have any sort of widespread severe impact, but since we have a persistent chance of rain over the next few days, there could be some risk for flooding in areas that are more prone to it, so be safe!

Following the weekend, we’ll see this trough slide away from us and cause some drier weather, but there’s a general weather pattern that will facilitate cooler weather for us here in Southeast Ohio, so we’ll have a distinct change from the last few days’ weather into a much more consistent pattern of cool weather with chances of rain.
