Forecast Discussion

The National Weather Service of Charleston, WV. has issued a Flood Watch which will be lasting until Sunday, April 6th, 2025. There will be joint rounds of rainfall starting Wednesday night until Sunday which will lead to potential flooding of creeks and streams. In result of this, our rainfall totals could be up to 4-6 inches widespread. Stay tuned over the coming days for more information.

Alongside with this, the National Prediction Center has issued a slight risk for severe weather on Wednesday. The main threats will be mostly wind and hail, but an isolated tornado or two can’t be ruled out.

We will get a break from the rain yesterday as a mild day is in store for us. We will see a high in the mid to high-50’s and sunshine will peak through the morning clouds. As tonight approaches, we will see a low-pressure system start to move into our area as clouds will start to form. We will see a bit of a warmup tomorrow but alongside with this, the chance of rain and thunderstorms will return with this. A high of 79°F will be expected, but as the day progresses, a mature staged front will be punching its way through the Ohio River valley, bringing the chance for severe weather. This trend will last through Wednesday night. The severe weather risk will be out of our area by Thursday afternoon, but the rain will continue. We can expect highs to be in the mid-70’s with a low in the low 50’s. The rain will sit stationary through the weekend as Friday, we will see a bit of a cooldown with highs in the high 60’s. Then on Saturday, we can expect our highs to be back up in the upper 70s and as the overnight approaches, we will see a low in the lower 50s.
