Forecast Discussion

Arrival of a surface low pressure system is expected today, which will be accompanied by the chance of some morning rain showers, as well as cooler than normal temperatures. Following this, through tonight and tomorrow, high pressure will begin to build in, and we’ll see clearer skies and a warming trend take hold in the region. Tomorrow morning, fog is expected due to the rapid rate of morning warming and moisture available, so be wary on your morning commute. This pattern isn’t expected to hold for long, as tomorrow night we’ll see yet another cut-off low pressure system bring some much-needed rainfall to Southeast Ohio. This low, specifically, comes with a chance of some thunderstorms, so stay tuned to Scalia Lab and your local NWS office for more details as these storms approach.

Following tomorrow, we see a early chance of rain and thunderstorms on Friday, followed by clear skies and the potential for some more fog. Then, Sunday night we’re expecting some more precipitation with the potential for thunderstorms.
