The National Weather Service in Charleston, WV has issued a Flash Flood Watch in effect until 5:00pm EDT on September, 26^th. A shortwave feature has been fueled by southerly moisture, which has been giving us these numerous waves of rain showers. It is associated with a vacating warm front to the NE, which is why the intensity of these showers have been low to moderate. We will continue to feel mild and humid, but there will be a break in the rain this afternoon. A lingering shower is not ruled out due to the abundant cloud cover and supersaturated air heading into late afternoon and evening. More showers and even some thunderstorms for tonight and especially Wednesday as a distinguished cold front trek through. Marginal risk outlook from the SPC may suggest that some of these thunderstorms associated with this cold front may hold some severity. Gusty winds with some of these thunderstorms and showers later into Wednesday that should push out by Wednesday evening. Cooler temperatures and lower dewpoints set in as we begin to see generally higher pressure on Thursday and into the weekend.
