Forecast Discussion

It will be cool tonight with a low around 45 degrees under partly cloudy skies. Tomorrow will be pleasant with sunny conditions and warm temperatures in the mid-70s. That will change as showers and thunderstorms associated with a cold front make their way through starting early Wednesday and persist throughout the day. In addition, the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has issued a Marginal Risk (level 1 of 5) for Athens County and Southeast Ohio on Wednesday for the threat of an isolated thunderstorm producing damaging winds. In the wake of this system, Thursday will be cooler with highs barely reaching 60. A warming trend begins on Friday as we get back to 70 degrees with sunshine. This trend looks to continue throughout the weekend and into early next week as summer-like heat returns.
