AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM THURSDAY TO MIDNIGHT EDT THURSDAY NIGHT
Hazy skies will continue into Thursday as smoke from the Canadian wildfires lingers across the area, leading to reduced visibility and poor air quality. Widespread smoke is expected to persist through Friday morning.
Temperatures will remain in the low 90s through the end of the workweek. By Friday afternoon, we’ll have a chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms. As we head into the weekend, those rain chances will help bring temperatures down, with highs settling into the mid to upper 80s.
Some of those storms could become strong to severe Friday night through the weekend, with the greatest threat arriving Saturday afternoon and evening. Localized flash flooding and damaging wind gusts will be something to keep an eye out for.
