A dreary start of the weekend is in store for our area. A cold front will drudge through Athens tonight bringing heavy rain. Rain continues through much of the day Friday with a break in the late afternoon. Then, a deepening low will eject northeastward towards us, bringing another round of heavy rain. Rain and possibly thunderstorms continue throughout Saturday morning. A few showers are possible later in the day Saturday as well.
Rainfall amounts may exceed 2-3 inches by Saturday afternoon. For that reason a Flood Watch has been issued for our area. Stay safe on the roads as conditions will be slick.
