Rain showers will move into the Athens area by the afternoon and take over the back half of this week. These showers could bring minor flooding concerns, as Athens County is under a level 1 out of 4 for excessive rainfall. Severe thunderstorms could also form, closer to Wednesday night into Thursday. A cold front will pass through by Thursday morning, providing the necessary energy for storms to strengthen.
