The National Weather Service in Charleston West Virginia has issued a Flood Warning in effect until 10PM tonight, Friday March 6th.

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a Slight Risk of Severe Weather valid from 7AM on Saturday, March 7th to 8AM on Sunday, March 8th. This is subject to change throughout tonight and tomorrow, potentially being upgraded as new information comes in.

Even though we’ve certainly seen enough rain this past week, the atmosphere has much more in store for us yet. Tomorrow will likely bring thunderstorms, as high temperatures and humidity provide a warm welcome for a system moving through our area. This thunderstorm threat includes a nonzero probability for tornadoes, although the higher threats remain for hail and straight line damaging winds.

Cold air will come in behind this system and bring temperatures down after the storms depart, but Sunday’s respite may be brief, as another weathermaker looks like it might be in the chamber for Tuesday and Wednesday. Stay safe and be weather aware.
