Forecast Discussion

Our nice stretch of weather comes to an end tonight, with partly cloudy skies and a low of 68. Sunday will be mostly sunny, but clouds will be rolling in to support some storms on Monday. The National Weather Service issued a slight risk (level 2 out of 5) for severe thunderstorms for Athens County on Monday.  There will be two rounds of showers and thunderstorms, with damaging winds and locally heavy downpours as primary threats.

Tuesday will be on the drier side, after a cold front passage late Tuesday morning. Any lingering showers will clear out early Tuesday afternoon. After the rain moves out, the rest of next week is set to be picture perfect. Wednesday starts our stretch of cooler air coming in from the north with minimal winds. Clear skies and temperatures in the lower 80s can be expected for the back half of the week. Stay weather aware on Monday, and make sure you can receive all weather alerts timely.
