A large upper-level trough is making its way across the region, and with it comes a strong surface low and the prevailing presence of cool air. As the warm front moves through the region tonight, rain showers will persist, heavy at times. The low and upper-level trough will slow down and keep the pattern of cool, cloudy, wet weather through Saturday, with highs in the upper 50s to maybe lower 60s and showers persisting through this whole period. Clearer conditions finally move in for Sunday as the trough and surface low finally begin to pull away, but not before most of the region sees about an inch of rain (with higher amounts maybe up to 2″ possible).
