Forecast Discussion

A very calm, warm pattern has set up shop over the Great Lakes, courtesy of a strong surface high pressure that has developed on the backside of a longwave trough. This strong high pressure will hang around for the next several days, bringing more sun than clouds, no precipitation, and gradually warming temperatures. The only exception to the calm conditions will be patchy fog developing in areas tonight due to the temperature falling near the dewpoint. Highs are expected to increase from the upper 70s tomorrow to the upper 80s by Sunday, with lows going from the 50s the next couple nights to not escaping the mid 60s by next week. Humidity will also be on the increase, with dewpoints rising from the 50s to the 60s next week. The hot and humid pattern is expected to last through at least the middle of next week.
