Forecast Discussion
Another hot day today to round out our sunny week! The D1 drought (Moderate Drought) continues to persist across much of Ohio with only slightly increasing cloud cover this weekend to offer any break from sunshine.
Looking ahead towards early next week, we have a troughing pattern in the upper atmosphere, an associated low pressure system, and moist winds from the Gulf bringing in favorable conditions for rain in the late afternoon Monday and into Tuesday. Expect wind speeds to pick up to around 7-10 mph as the low pressure passes through the area towards the tail end of the weekend. Predicted accumulations remain minimal, with no more than half an inch of rain over the course of the system. Temperatures will gradually decrease over the next few days as a result, but still remain firmly above normal (NOAA 6-10 Day Temperature Outlook).
