Forecast Discussion
This afternoon, constant showers are expected as a squall line passes through the eastern US. We can expect rain till around midnight, and temperatures to gradually drop as the day continues. Due to a cold front, a part of a low-pressure system coming through (a trough moving east towards the Ohio Valley, bringing rising air and strong winds higher up), SW winds are expected to sit between 10-20 mph, and strong gusts can be seen reaching around 30mph. As a result, the NWS (Charleston, WV) has issued a Special Weather Statement, which remains in effect until 11 pm. Following up tomorrow, the synoptic low is expected to shift northeast towards the Great Lakes, which could bring some scattered showers/thunderstorms overnight into the morning, but conditions are expected to clear by then. Tuesday could have some pop-up showers present in the early morning, but until Thursday, there is no precipitation. Expect most days to be at least partly cloudy this week, and several days to be overcast.
