Forecast Discussion

Last night, a cold front came to town and hit us with some storms. This active weather pattern is going to linger for a few hours, and because of this, the National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook (Valid Until 9am ET) that has to do with some gusty showers still in the area. Then, due to some cold air advection, we’re going to see some wind gusts that, at higher elevations, could gust over 40 miles per hour. The National Weather service has issued a Special Weather Statement regarding this, currently it is set to expire at 9:30 am ET, but this forecaster believes it stands a good chance at being extended through the rest of the day.

Following today, an arctic high will settle into the region, which will clear skies for a little bit because we’re expecting our next active weather system by Friday night, which will be another standard disturbance and attached cold front. Snow remains unlikely for Friday due to Southwesterly flow from the arctic high warming things up a little bit as the days progress towards then, but stay tuned to Scalia Lab’s forecasts to see how this transpires!
