A system bringing warm air from the south will pass over the state day, warming us back up into the 40s. However, alongside this warm-up will be gusty winds of up to 30 mph in some spots. Unfortunately, temperatures are expected to drop quickly by nearly 10 degrees on Thursday as cold air behind this weather system moves in. These temperatures are then expected to steadily drop into the coming days and to close out the work week as multiple systems bringing cold air pass over the region. Temperatures may get bitterly cold on Sunday as we may not even reach the lower-20s by then.

Additionally, rain and snow are expected to return this morning and Friday into Saturday. Since our temperatures will stay above freezing overnight, we can expect rain to impact your morning commute before tapering off by the afternoon. This has the possibility to transition into snow flurries by the evening, but accumulation isn’t expected to be significant. Snow will make a return Friday and Saturday as yet another system moves into our region with cold air. Snow may primarily impact early morning commutes on Friday while snow may hold off until the evening on Saturday before calmer conditions return once more.
