Forecast Discussion
Currently, Athens is under a Cold Weather Advisory issued by NWS Charleston WV until 11 AM Wednesday. Wind chills may reach as low as -10 degrees; take precautions as necessary for your health and safety.
The snow will continue to stick around for quite awhile due to sub-freezing temperatures all the way into February. Single digit lows will also persist until Monday as we continue to experience this arctic blast. With these frigid temperatures comes some pleasant sky conditions, with no precipitation expected for the next week and consistently partly cloudy skies. With the exception of tomorrow afternoon, winds will also remain relatively calm, helping to prevent the feels like temperature from reaching as low as it did this morning. We will begin to break this icy spell after the weekend, where temperatures will start to slowly climb back up to normal.
