Forecast Discussion
Currently, Athens County is under a Flood watch until 2AM early Thursday morning. In addition, we are under a Slight risk (level 2 out of 4) for excessive rainfall. Showers and thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall at times throughout the day. With already saturated grounds, flooding remains possible especially in low lying areas. Periods of heavy rain may also produce flash flooding at times.
Showers and thunderstorms will continue throughout the day and clear out during the late evening. We are currently under a Marginal risk (level 1 out of 5), for the chance of an isolated thunderstorm having stronger wind gusts. High temperature today in the mid 70s. Throughout the rest of the week and into the weekend, much nicer weather can be expected with clouds mostly clearing out after Wednesday. Not much of any rain up through the start of next week. Temperatures averaging just around 80 degrees.
