A nice weekend is in store for Athens with mostly clear skies. Humidities will be high all of this weekend and carry over into next week. Winds will be picking up from the west at 5-10 mph on Sunday to support some rain in the evening. A slight risk has been issued for Monday regarding severe thunderstorm formation. Although the morning will be quiet, the severe thunderstorms will arrive in the afternoon and evening. This could possibly continue into Tuesday morning. A cold front will also pass through late Tuesday morning, forcing the rain to clear out by late Tuesday morning.

After the rain moves out, the rest of next week is set to be picture perfect. Wednesday starts our stretch of cooler air coming in from the north with minimal winds. Clear skies and temperatures in the lower 80s can be expected for the back half of the week. Enjoy the nice weather before our next round of rain!
