Forecast Discussion

The weekend looks to be rainy, but it shouldn’t last forever. Thunderstorms will pass through the Athens area around midnight and into the early hours of the morning. A flash flood discussion to the west of Athens may be extended to cover us, so be a ware of the potential for flash flooding in low lying areas.

Showers and thunderstorms will likely continue on the back side of the system throughout the day tomorrow, but as it moves eastward, the probabilities decrease into the night, leaving negligible chance of rain by the beginning of the week Monday. Which is great because I really need to cut the grass at my house.

Temperatures would have made for a pleasant weekend if it wasn’t so rainy. Persistent cloud cover should keep the highs in the low 80’s at most.
