Forecast Discussion
Happy 4th of July! Showers and thunderstorms are currently in the area, which may disrupt firework shows. Remain weather aware and if thunder roars, go indoors. As we get into the overnight, storms will become more widespread before pushing east by early morning.
While todays showers and thunderstorms will bring temperatures down, our risk for severe weather continues into the latter half of the weekend. The SPC has much of southeastern Ohio under a Marginal (1/5) risk for Sunday July 5. Timing of potential storms looks to be mid to late afternoon, so stay aware if you are planning on outdoor activities. Similar to today, showers and storms will be scattered across our area, and rainfall totals will vary depending on where the heaviest showers set up.
Moving into next week we can expect slightly cooler daytime highs, mostly around the mid-80s. Nighttime lows will remain around 70 for much of the early week, but will feel slightly warmer as humidity from daytime showers lingers into the overnight.
