Forecast Discussion

A ‘false spring’ is occurring for us at this time in January, giving us daytime highs in the lower 50s and a sense of warming! Calm conditions are expected tonight before a low-pressure system will begin moving in tomorrow, bringing us some rain slight chances. Clouds will remain mostly overcast with winds majorly stemming from the southwest. However, rain chances are much stronger towards the end of our weekdays with Thursday to Saturday rain amounts accumulating up to ~0.8 inches for Athens, OH – with a high in the mid-60s Friday. After these rains, the weekend will experience some well above-average daytime highs in the 50s before a small cold snap on Monday drops our temperatures back down seasonal averages in the 30s!
