Athens, OH is currently under a Wind Advisory for westerly wind gusts up to 45mph today from 1:00am to 7:00pm. Be sure to secure outside objects and prepare for potential power outages!

Today’s high in the upper 30s occurred this morning, as temperatures will gradually drop as the rest of the day rolls on. Wind gusts remain high today and decrease slightly to gusts up to 30mph tonight and then up to 25mph tomorrow. Cloud cover will stay almost overcast for the start of our week as a weather system to our north pushes eastward. Looking ahead, we’re given a slight break from these wind gusts Tuesday night, but Wednesday and New Year’s Day may see gusts up to 25mph.

With New Year’s Eve, there are snow chances overnight into New Year’s Day. The snow is looking to end by afternoon on New Year’s Day, but confidence is low on snow accumulation; more info will be clearer as we move closer to the new year!
