Forecast Discussion

A Marginal Risk for severe weather (1/5) has been forecasted for Athens tomorrow. The primary risks tomorrow will be severe wind gusts and hail, but the highest chance for severe weather lies north of Athens County in the central/north-east regions of the state. Any showers and storms that may occur in our region will primarily occur overnight into Sunday, but we may see some spotty showers during the daytime as well. Breezy conditions will occur today and tomorrow as this system approaches the region with gusts of up to 20 mph in some spots. Temperatures are expected to continue to hover in the mid-80s through this weekend into next week, keeping it fairly hot for the start of June. Calmer conditions are expected come Monday and Tuesday, though there may be spotty showers during the start of the work week next week, but it’s too early to confidently determine.
