Forecast Discussion

A Special Weather Statement has been issued that includes Athens, OH: slick conditions will be possible on untreated roadways through Thursday, and heavier bands of snow & gusty winds at times could produce sudden visibility reductions.

Due to the rains today and a temperature drop as we move into this evening, rains will shift to a rain-snow mix before becoming snow. Total accumulation is little to none, however, and driving conditions may be slick due to possible ice; at this time, no weather alerts are issued, but exercise caution if out on the roads. Winds will stem from the northwest with gusts up to 25mph tonight, tomorrow, and on Friday before shifting to coming from the southwest Thursday night and into Friday. Snow flurries will continue into tomorrow morning and then return during the day on Friday. Saturday will see a return of more snow, but accumulation is only predicted to be 1/2 of an inch at this time.
