The NWS Storm Prediction Center has Athens County and much of Southeast Ohio under a slight risk (level 2/5) for severe weather on Saturday. Right now the main hazards are damaging to severe winds, and a small risk for hail. Make sure you have ways to receive NWS warnings in the case of a storm approaching with dangerous severe wind gusts and stay tuned as we head into Saturday for any forecast updated or warnings posted to Scalia Lab social media pages.

Tonight is the last remaining stretch of calm weather before a storm system rolls in tomorrow, bringing chances for showers and storms across Southeast Ohio. There will possibly be some scattered showers in the late morning hours tomorrow with the main severe storm system arriving later in the day. Storms will last into the overnight hours with some very scattered showers left over throughout the day on Sunday. Looking ahead, this main storm system will leave small disturbances in the local atmosphere in its wake, meaning there will be lingering chances for more showers and storms through much of next week. Temperatures will also be fairly warm with most daytime highs reaching the mid to upper 80s and nighttime lows reaching the low 60s.
