The same story we’ve been hearing the last week or so, high pressure continues to dominate the region, bringing us warm and sunny conditions. It will be the same way today, clear and a high of 88 is expected, with a low of 57 tonight with the continued clear conditions. Some good news as we head into this weekend, a front off to our north will come down into our area. While no precipitation is expected, we will see some much needed cloud cover and some cooler temperatures (not quite fall-like but better than it has been) as we head into next week. This cloud cover and maybe even some rain will be possible as we head more into next week. With these continued warm and sunny conditions, the drought monitor for Athens is still at a D0 (Abnormally Dry) today but is expected to worsen as these warm and sunny conditions persist for at least the next few days or more.
