Technical Forecast Discussion Meet the Forecaster

Forecast Discussion

A strong high-pressure system has set up over the Ohio Valley to keep things hot and generally dry conditions continuing. As we head into the halfway point of the week, a system bringing a warm front and then a subsequent cold front will move in Wednesday morning.

This timing is rather unfortunate with Independence Day coming up, but showers look to be somewhat isolated going off of long-range model guidance. We will be keeping a close eye on the forecast for the 4th, and hopefully chances for showers and thunderstorms won’t have any impact on festivities. Other than that, highs in the upper 80s will dominate with mostly sunny skies this week!

This is my last forecast as Midday Forecaster for Scalia Lab, and I am so honored and thankful for this experience to serve my local community through this program. Thank you so much for supporting the Ohio University Meteorology program!
