Forecast Discussion

This discussion will be somewhat brief given the late upload (another forecast will still come out around 8 pm). Anyway, a big low pressure system is expected to reach our area on Tuesday. No severe weather is expected as of right now, but this system will be notable since the backside of this system will bring our first dose of cold weather as there is a decent chance of the precipitation to turn from rain to snow. However, accumulations will be minimal (about 1 inch at most, most of which will melt on impact with the ground), with the higher elevations having a slightly better chance at accumulation. It is always tricky to forecast the accumulation with snow, so things can be slightly subject to change. For the high temperatures, we will be in the low to mid 60s for the next couple days until Wednesday where the temperature will start in the low 60s, then continuously fall throughout the day until it is around the mid 30s. Thursday will be entirely in the 30s, which is when there is the chance at seeing rain showers transition slowly into snow showers, especially into the overnight hours. Friday will warm up a little more, allowing for the precipitation to transition back into rain showers.
