Forecast Discussion

A passing cold front combined with the outermost remnants of Tropical Storm Sally have combined to make skies cloudy this evening. As both Sally and the front progress out of the region, skies will begin to gradually clear out, so by tomorrow, any lingering clouds should give way to sunny skies. In fact, the rest of the short-to-mid term forecast will be dominated by clear skies as a strong Canadian high pressure sets up shop over the region for the next several days. This strong Canadian high will lock in an airmass of cool, dry air for the foreseeable future, meaning very pleasant fall-like conditions are expected through at least the end of the forecast period. Highs are expected to only reach the upper 60s to possibly lower 70s, while lows in the lower 40s to upper 30s will cause early-season frost concerns, especially in higher elevations and more rural areas.
