Forecast Discussion
Homecoming week should bring fair weather to the Athens region. This is due to a ridging pattern up in the jetstream, bringing us fall like temperatures. Looking into the future, a deep ridging pattern with a cold front will make its way across the United States this week. This system will start to impact us on Friday, and into the weekend. A quick high pressure system will appear Friday, just south of our region bringing us warmer temperatures for Friday. Friday evening and into Saturday morning, is when we will see the biggest chances of rain. These showers should taper off mid morning on Saturday, and after we will see colder but nicer weather. For Tuesday night and Wednesday highs will be in the 70s with lows in the 50s. Thursday and Friday we should see highs in the mid 70s and lows in the mid 50s.
