With the strong cold front that just passed through Athens, fall like weather is to be expected. Due to an upper level short wave trough and weakening low level flow, colder and wetter weather is in our forecast for the next several days. Remaining moisture pushing NE from the cold front that pushed through will make its way into to Athens this evening bringing the chance of rain with it. For the rest of the weak temperature will remain in the in the 60’s during the day and the 40’s at night. On wednesday night, another cold front along with a surface low to our north will pass through the area, bringing with it the chance of rain. By the end of the week, a shortwave trough may be approaching the area increasing the chance for rain showers for Monday.
