Forecast Discussion

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued and includes Athens, OH. It’s effective from 7:00am Saturday Jan. the 24th until 7:00am Monday Jan. the 26th. Heavy snow is expected and accumulations are looking to be between 6 and 12 inches. Please be prepared ahead of time!

Tomorrow will sport a less cloudy day and allow for more sunshine before clouds roll in and stay into the weekend. Wind gusts may get up to 25mph tonight from the southwest, and winds in general will be from the southwest until shifting northwesterly on Friday. We can expect temperatures to drop and stay colder as we move through the weekend and well into next week, so any snowfall that occurs and accumulates will likely stick around for a few days. Wind chills next week may drop down temperatures to feeling like they are below freezing.
