Forecast Discussion

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Athens county that will expire at 2 pm today. Due to saturated soils any isolated heavy rain showers can and likely will cause some flash flooding, especially in areas that have already seen flooding from the rainfall we have already received this past last week.

Rain continues into today with widespread showers this morning and afternoon becoming more scattered in the evening. Friday we will see drier and sunnier conditions and clouds will continue to decrease into the weekend. Though, there is a chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms on Saturday. Otherwise, temperatures will remain in the upper 70s and low 80s for Bobcat move in and for Welcome Weekend events.
