Forecast Discussion
While we will remain dry tomorrow thanks to the passage of the system that moved through today, the Storm Prediction Center has put Athens under a Slight Risk for severe weather (2/5) for Thursday. These storm chances will remain quite early in the morning, like right before sunrise. Thankfully, once the rain and possible storms move past the region, the region will dry out for the remainder of the day as calm weather fills the region. Calm conditions will continue, even clearing out by Saturday and most of Sunday, before our next chance for rain and perhaps another rumble of thunder arrives late Sunday into Monday.
Temperatures tomorrow and Thursday will increase into the lower-80s as warm air from this approaching system is brought into the region, but by Friday we can expect to return into the mid-to-upper-70s for the foreseeable future.
