Athens county is under a Flood Warning due to our increased risk for flooding from our continuous rainfall. This will be in effect until tomorrow at 1 pm as we will continue to see chances for rain overnight tonight. Flooding is currently happening in places along Sunday Creek. Remember, if you see flooding on a roadway turn around, don’t drown it only takes 12 inches of rushing water to wash away a vehicle.

More rain is expected overnight tonight until about 3 am when chances for rain will briefly slow down, this will stretch into tomorrow as isolated showers are expected in the afternoon. The rain will return in full again Tuesday night and Wednesday with much needed relief coming Thursday. After the rain exits, temperatures will remain in the upper-60s and low-70s to end the week and throughout the weekend.
