Currently, the Great Lakes Region of the US is under a big trough that has come down from Canada, bringing milder and cooler air to the region. Since we are now towards the back end of the trough, clear and sunny skies will be present thanks to the high pressure that is on the back end of this trough. This trough will persist for a few days more, leaving Ohio around Monday evening into Tuesday morning. In place of the trough will be another ridge that will eventually engulf much of the central and eastern US, keeping the sunshine around for a few more days here. This ridge will persist through much of the rest of the week, only being disrupted by a tropical system that is expected (as of now) to make landfall in Louisiana around Thursday morning, then move northeast, bringing potential rain showers here starting on Friday and into next weekend. So, for the high temperatures over the next several days, it will be in the mid 70s tomorrow (Sunday), followed by low 80s on Monday, then high 80s both on Tuesday and on Thursday, and low 90s on Wednesday. It is also worth noting that the low temperatures for tonight into Sunday morning and Sunday night into Monday morning will be in the high 30s, so please plan accordingly for that. One more thing to note is that we are currently under a big drought here in SE Ohio and have been basically all summer. Well, unfortunately, that is not going away anytime soon since droughts take a while to recover from, even with a ton of rain which isn’t the case for this week.
