Forecast Discussion
Due to our risk for flooding this week, the National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Athens County. This will be in effect until Friday at 8 am. Avoid driving through flooded roadways, remember turn around and don’t drown.
Our wet pattern will continue today as showers and thunderstorms are expected once again. Luckily, The Weather Prediction Center has downgraded us back to a Slight Risk (level 2 out of 4) for excessive rainfall today though flash flooding is still expected during bouts of heavier rainfall. We are also under a Slight Risk (level 2 out of 5) for severe weather, potential hazards include (but are not limited to) damaging wind gusts and a brief tornado.
