Due to the torrential rainfall our area has received, Athens is under a Flood Warning until 8:00 am on Thursday, August, 13th. The Hocking River is forecasted to crest at minor flood stage early Thursday morning. Athens is also under a Flood Watch until 8:00 am on Friday, August, 14th.

Rain chances will continue through the weekend into next work week. Flooding continues to remain a concern for the region, especially in low lying areas. Temperatures will increase into the weekend into the high 80s. On Tuesday, a much needed break from the rain is expected.
