A nice weekend is in store for Athens with mostly clear skies. Humidities will be high all of this weekend and carry over into next week. Winds will be picking up from the west at 5-10 mph on Sunday to support some rain in the evening. Monday morning will be our brief break from the rain with mostly cloudy skies, before the rain returns in the afternoon. Severe thunderstorms could form in the afternoon and evening, possibly continuing into Tuesday morning. A cold front will also pass through late Tuesday morning, forcing the rain to clear out by Tuesday evening.

After the rain moves out, the rest of next week is set to be picture perfect. Wednesday starts our stretch of cooler air coming in from the north with minimal winds. Clear skies and temperatures in the lower 80s can be expected for the back half of the week. Enjoy the nice weather before our next round of rain!
