A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for a strong low pressure system that has entered the area. Tonight, snow will continue, becoming heavy late around the midnight hours. In the early morning hours of Monday, a mixing of sleet and snow is possible as well, though this will taper off by the later morning as snow becomes more scattered. In the afternoon, a light snow will remain. Accumulations of snow could total between 5-9 inches, with some light icing possible. Driving is heavily discouraged, especially as snow is heavy, as many roads may be impassable by Monday morning. Additionally, power outages may occur, so be sure to stock up on food, water, and other supplies, and find ways to stay warm. As the low pressure exits, a brief high pressure will fill in on Tuesday, allowing for a few breaks of clouds, but with temperatures still cold in the mid 20s.

For the remainder of the week, temperatures remain below freezing for daytime highs. A quick moving cold front will enter on Wednesday, which may spur up a few flurries early. Into Thursday, higher pressure settles in, which will provide a quick clearing before another quick moving low pressure up the east coast delivers a chance of light snow once again.
