Forecast Discussion

While the low pressure system that brought in the bad weather yesterday will exit the region, the calm conditions we’ll see this morning are not expected to last long. A shortwave trough is expected to hit the region today, which will cause an abundance of rain, as well as some potential thunderstorms. Due to the, the WPC has issued an Excessive Rainfall Outlook for the region. The potential for flooding is there, as it is with any other periods of excessive rainfall, so be wary. Behind this shortwave trough, there is a bigger upper-level trough that will continue the pattern of nasty weather and rain into the start of the new week.

Once Monday passes, conditions are expected to clear up slightly, with some expected activity on Wednesday night from another upper level trough and a cold front. Aside from that, there’ll be brief periods of high pressure that will leave our non-active days nice and sunny.
