Forecast Discussion

We have an active week of weather ahead of us! Starting today we’ll expect to see a continuation of the clouds and rain we saw during the football home opener yesterday. This is due to some shortwave troughing, these are bringing a large amount of moisture into the area. Because of this expect to see large rainfall totals from storms, and be wary for flood-prone areas and make sure you practice the proper flooding safety precautions.

After these shortwaves, we’re expecting another trough that will keep the weather just as gloomy as it has been. This is expected to begin around the end of today, and we will see continuous rounds of (normally non-severe) storms come at us. We should finally see a break from this trend around Thursday, but forecast models are constantly changing. So it is possible the gloomy weather continues into the late week as well.
