Forecast Discussion
Today, the high pressure system we’ve been dealing with over the past few days will continue to draw in hot air from the gulf. This will result in today being unseasonably warm, but there’s a cold front on the way tonight. This cold front is the cause of the potential severe weather we’re expecting tonight, and the storm prediction center has us at a slight risk for severe weather tonight. This threat is mainly due to severe wind gusts, but there’s a decent likelihood for some isolated tornadoes.
After the cold front hits tonight, a second one will approach and cause some really unseasonably cold temperatures. The high on Friday isn’t expected to be higher than 70 degrees, so be prepared for some chilly weather, especially at nighttime where we can see temps dip into the forties.
