Technical Forecast Discussion

Short Term (Sunday 4/9/2023 through Thursday 4/13/2023)

We have a pretty uneventful week across our entire region with surface high pressure and upper level ridging. Supergeostrophic winds in the upper level ridging pattern promotes anticyclonic motion, which is exactly why we are seeing high pressure and clear skies. As a result, we do see quite the warming trend throughout the week, reaching daytime highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Skies remain clear for the majority, despite a brief shortwave trough moving through the longwave pattern, bringing a little bit of clouds. Other than that, enjoy the spring time conditions while you can!

Long Term (Thursday 4/13/2023 through Sunday 4/16/2023)

We wrap up the week the same way we start it: warm and clear. We don’t see our next chance for rain until Sunday, where a low pressure from the west is expected to develop and propagate east. Keep this in mind as we approach the weekend and we wait for more confidence.
