Technical Forecast Discussion
Short-term (Sunday 7/23/2023 through Tuesday 7/25/2023):
Over the next few days, we can expect pleasant weather conditions. Tonight, the skies will be clear, and temperatures will comfortably drop into the 60s. There is a weak upper-level trough lingering overhead, but its impact during this period will be minimal.
On Monday, we can look forward to a mix of sunshine and some clouds, resulting in partly cloudy skies. The temperatures will rise, peaking in the upper 80s, making it a warm day. However, there is a slight chance of showers as a small shortwave passes near midnight on Monday, although it may veer to the southwest and might not affect our area.
Tuesday will continue with partly cloudy skies as the upper-level trough persists, bringing some clouds along with it. Temperatures will remain in the upper 80s.
Long-term (Wednesday 7/26/2023 through Saturday 7/29/2023):
As we head into the latter part of the week, we can expect changes in the weather pattern. The trough will exit eastwards, allowing high pressure to build into our region, dominating the weather for the remainder of the week.
With the influence of the larger high-pressure system sitting over the southwest US, we can expect winds to blow from the west, bringing in warm air to our area. As a result, temperatures will rise significantly, and we can anticipate high temperatures soaring well into the 90s during this period and into the weekend.
