Forecast Discussion

Following the passage of a cold front last night that is currently pushing eastward, temperatures will plunge back into the 30s today, with a high around 40 degrees. It’ll be gloomy consistently throughout the day, with northwesterly winds between 10-15 mph, and gusts up to 20 mph. Light, localized flurries are possible in the area at random intervals, especially in the afternoon hours. By the evening, overcast skies will begin to break, and by early morning tomorrow, it will be clear, with a low down to a chilly 22 degrees. A strong high pressure will develop over the upper east-south central US, granting us clear skies on Saturday transitioning to partly cloudy by evening and winds from the southwest at 5-10 mph. Temperatures in the upper 40s will be likely then, the start of a climb out of the cold from Friday. By Saturday evening, clouds will return for an overcast night as the high pressure moves out of the area, with a low around 32 degrees, and light southern winds between 0-5 mph.
