Forecast Discussion

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch in effect from August 15, 02:00 AM EDT until August 15, 02:00 PM EDT.

A disturbance in the upper levels will make it way through the region tomorrow. This will allow thunderstorms and showers to develop. Guidance is suggesting these storms to be slow moving causing heavy rainfall on Saturday. Some storms may linger into Sunday, but another line of showers and thunderstorms are expected to make its way through on this day to the Athens region as a low pressure system’s associating cold front pushes its way through. High pressure is expected to influence the area later in the work week.
