Forecast Discussion
A low pressure system passed through Southern Ohio last night bringing a train of storms into the area. Since midnight Athens has gotten 0.7 inches of rain and it will continue raining throughout today and into tonight. The temperature will continue to rise above freezing resulting in rain being the main form of precipitation. The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch meaning there are areas that have a potential of flooding based off of the current forecast of total rain accumulation. Looking later into the week, a high pressure system will dominate the Southern Ohio area Thursday and Friday which will bring calm conditions of cloudy skies and temperatures in the upper 40s before a very prominent low pressure system moves in. This surface low will bring rainy conditions for Saturday and into Sunday morning with temperatures in the 50s.
