Forecast Discussion

Happy holidays from the team at Scalia Lab! A weak influence of a high pressure to the south will continue to battle with a weak area of low pressure in the Mid-Atlantic. Cloud cover will build again quickly this evening, but we are expected to remain dry overnight. The low pressure will provide a chance for a rain-snow mix during the day on Christmas, with highs topping off in the upper-30s. The high pressure system will then shift northwards and help us dry out again by tomorrow night. Dry conditions will persist through the day on Wednesday, with slightly warmer temperatures as highs creep up into the mid-40s. A significant warm-up is then expected to start on Thursday as a stronger low pressure system in the Plains drifts towards our region, providing chances for rain through Friday night.
