Forecast Discussion

A weak high pressure system will continue to remain in control and keep us dry through the end of the weekend. Lows tonight will dip into the upper-20s with mostly cloudy skies persisting. A few breaks in the clouds are expected on Sunday with highs topping off in the mid-40s. Beginning Sunday night, upper-level ridging will begin to build over our region. A strong upper-level jet streak will allow for an area of low pressure to form in the Mid-Atlantic, bringing back chances for showers early Monday morning. Rain showers are expected through most of New Years Eve, with a significant warm-up as highs are expected to reach 60. Scattered showers will continue through Monday night before a cold front pushes through, drying us out for New Years Day and allowing for colder temperatures to filter in.
