Forecast Discussion
A freeze warning is in effect for Athens County from 11 PM tonight until 9 AM Sunday. Any unprotected plants and crops may be damaged, and there is a risk for outdoor plumbing to freeze.
A cold blast of Canadian air is set to bring freezing temperatures into the area overnight. Sunday will start cold before a small storm system brings a chance for some showers in the late evening hours. Monday will start calm before a chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms arrives to the area. Looking ahead, storm chances increase into the middle of the week. Multiple rounds of showers and storms are expected to travel through Southeast Ohio, associated with a few storm systems making their way to the east just south of the region. Stay tuned for future updates on these storms as the week progresses.
