Forecast Discussion

The Jet Stream is maintaining its position just northeast of our area, steering the precipitation just north of us across the Great Lakes. We have a dominating high pressure for much of the Southeast, but with its positioning alongside the Jet Stream, it is pumping more of that warm moisture in our area for the next several days. With these hot and humid conditions, the risk for precipitation is low, but there is a risk for some late day thunderstorms today and Sunday. Areas of fog can be expected early this morning and on Sunday morning, especially in the low-lying areas. Dew points are very high with temperatures to be expected into the mid-upper 80s. More of this ridging will continue into next week with dry, but humid conditions. Still several days out, the next big threat for more showers and thunderstorms are possible on Thursday as the next system rolls through associated with a cold front.
